MISSION STATEMENT
“To proactively establish a sustainable interface between all major constituents of the Explosives Industry: The Users, the Regulatory Bodies, the Manufacturers, the Academic And Research Institutions, et. al., in order to foster and promote modern concepts and practices, relating to Safety and Technology of Explosives.”
‘Visfotak’ is sanskrit equivalent of ‘Explosives’. Ancient India was well versed in the science and technology of pyrotechnics and familiar with pyrotechnic. mixtures of metal powders,(Kumbhi,Lead, zinc,etc.) charcoal,, oil wax and turpentine. Indeed , there exists enough historical evidence to suggest that ancient India was the original home of gunpowder used in fire arms. Reference of “Agneya-Astra”, and “Cannon” are found in the epics of “Ramayana” and “Mahabharata”.
India ranks among the major producers of industrial explosives in the word, servicing an annualized demand profile for explosives and accessories, comprising in excess of 900000t of high explosives, 450 million detonators, 300 million meters detonating fuses, and 100 million meters safety fuses. There are over 160 explosives producing units including about 100 on-site Bulks units, with an aggregate installed capacity of approximately 1,1450,000 t of High Explosives, 900 million Detonators, 450 million meters Detonating Fuses, and 200 million meters safety fuses.

Safex International a non-profit organisation founded by the manufacturers of explosives and pyrotecnic , with 110 members in 46 countries , dedicated to promoting explosives safety.
‘Liaison Member’ of the *Institute of Makers of Explosives ( IME ) , USA, since 2014.
IME is the safety and security Institute of the commercial explosives industry. The institute represents U.S.manufacturers of high explosives and other companies that distribute explosives or provide related products and services. The Institute has promoted safety and security practices throughout the life cycle of industrial explosives products for more than 100 years. ”
